When it comes to your appointment, proper preparation is key to achieving great results and a smooth healing process. Here's what you need to know before your appointment:

Eligibility Requirements for Brow Tattooing

Before booking your brow tattoo appointment, make sure you meet the following criteria:

  • You must be over 18 years old.

  • You cannot be pregnant or nursing.

  • If you have had previous brow tattooing done elsewhere, a face-to-face consultation is required to assess whether your brows can be reworked or if removal sessions are necessary.

  • If you have undergone chemotherapy, you must wait at least three months after your last treatment.

These requirements are in place to ensure your safety and the best possible outcome for your brow tattoo.

Medications & Supplements to Avoid

Certain medications and supplements can thin the blood, affecting the healing process and pigment retention. Please consult with your doctor before discontinuing any medications.

Avoid the following for at least 72 hours to 7 days before your session:

  • Aspirin

  • Ibuprofen (Advil, Nurofen)

  • Vitamin E

  • Niacin

  • Omega-3s & Fish Oil

  • Evening Primrose Oil

What Other Things to Avoid Before Your Appointment

To make sure of the best pigment retention and healing, you need to avoid the following things:

  • Alcohol for 24-48 hours before your session.

  • Caffeine for at least 12 hours before and after your session.

  • Waxing brows for at least 72 hours before, Tinting Brows for at least 14 days before and 14 days after your appointment.

  • Henna brows or brow lamination for 2 weeks before and 6 weeks after.

  • Botox or fillers for 3 weeks before and after your tattoo.

  • UV tanning beds, Retinol, Retinoids, Retin A, or Alpha Hydroxy Acids for 30 days before and after.

  • Fake tanning products for 30 days before as they can cause the pigment to appear darker.

  • Lash/brow growth serums for 90 days before and after.

Scheduling Around Important Events

Brow tattoos go through a healing phase where the pigment initially appears darker before softening into the skin. This process typically takes about two weeks.

To make sure your brows are fully healed before an important event, schedule your appointment at least three weeks before any significant occasion, such as a wedding or birthday.

Imagine this: You've got a dream destination wedding planned, and you want your brows to be perfect in all those cherished photos. Booking too close to the big day could leave you dealing with flaking skin or an uneven healing stage, which is the last thing you want when walking down the aisle.

Similarly, if you have a milestone birthday coming up and want to look your best, allowing enough time for your brows to settle into their final, beautiful shape ensures you'll feel confident and picture-ready.

Planning ahead helps you avoid unnecessary stress and guarantees your brows are at their absolute best for your special occasion.

Allergy & Medical Considerations

At Manor Ink, your safety and comfort are our top priorities. If you have any known allergies or medical conditions, please inform us prior to your appointment so we can assess whether the procedure is suitable for you and take the necessary precautions.

Cosmetic or hair dye allergies: Some individuals may have reactions to pigments used in brow tattooing, similar to reactions to hair dye. If you have had sensitivities to hair dye, please notify us so we can perform a patch test if necessary.

Latex allergies: Certain gloves and materials used in the procedure may contain latex. If you have a latex allergy, please let us know so we can use latex-free alternatives.

Topical anesthetic allergies: We use numbing creams and gels containing lidocaine, tetracaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, or epinephrine to minimise discomfort during the procedure.

If you have had allergic reactions to any of these ingredients in the past, please inform us beforehand. If needed, we can explore alternative numbing options or discuss the possibility of proceeding without topical anesthesia.

If you have any other allergies or medical conditions that may affect your procedure, please reach out to us in advance so we can ensure your safety and comfort.
